Overpopulation – The Human Explosion Explained

In a very short amount of time the human population exploded and is still growing very fast. Will this lead to the end of our civilization?

In a crisis, people will turn to plants once again for both food and medicine.

And there are some plants that will vanish faster than all others.

So the only way to make sure you have them when you need them is to grow them in your own backyard.

One interestic aspect is that one reason the Western countries had a head start was their access to resources- many of them obtained through overexploitation, exploiting poor working conditions, colonialism and environmental degradation. I’m curious to see how that will play out in the “developing” countries reaching the later stages of the demographic transition, as they do not have the same preconditions that the Western countries did. Will we see a slow but sure migration to the developed countries, a “brain drain”? Will some places be abandoned and only used for resource extraction? It’s a very interesting topic.
